Tackling Stray Dogs and Cats

With the alarming increase in stray animals in Malaysia, the Animal Welfare Association MAWA vice president, Dr Parveena Nair. She has urgently called upon the public to unite and address the pressing animal welfare concerns. Public urged for tackling stray dogs and cats for animal welfare.

According to her statement, citizens come together for animal welfare so that no stray animal will be left alone. Road accidents or viral diseases kill thousands of cats and dogs every day. If citizens adopt pets and take responsibility for caring for them, no pets would be left behind or neglected. This calls for responsible pet ownership, a duty we all share.

In Malaysia, these figures are uncontrollable by the institution; if we say only 3 out of 10 people will adopt a pet, these numbers will significantly decrease, and every pet will be under the surveillance of the pet owner.

However, Parveena said there is a difference of opinion among the people on controlling stray animals, and she came up with no solution. Dr Nasir said that instead of wasting time on this, we should collectively put effort into it and join the force; that’s the solution, and it’s within our reach.

The first vet bill was worth approximately RM 1,600. Aadhi is the dog name, which means “the beginning.” The veterinarian also found that Aadhi had unilateral cryptorchidism, having one testicle, a congenital ailment impacting male genitalia, and patella luxation, a genetic disorder affecting both knees.

I spent roughly RM8,000 fixing the patella. Before neutering him, hence we are waiting for his knees to heal.” I never touched the dog before marriage, but she became interested in dogs after the marriage. Now, I am on my mission to eliminate the problem of stray dogs and cats.

However, according to Solid Paws Teams, the best possible solution is neutering dogs and cats, which would halt production of their offspring. Secondly, building the infrastructure or specific rooms in every big town would benefit from handling them.

However, there must be an option for paid adoption for the dogs and cats, which could be a minimum value. That monetary value will help the institute purchase food or carry out maintenance for the dogs and cats. in my point of view this is the best way for tackling stray dogs and cats.
